If there’s one thing I’ve learned in my first year of drone ownership, it’s this: the right accessories can completely transform your flying experience. Whether you’re capturing cinematic landscapes or just enjoying the thrill of flight, having the right gear on hand makes all the difference.
Just picked up the DJI Mini 4 Pro? You’re in for an incredible ride. But to truly make the most of your drone—from smoother takeoffs and safer landings to extended flight time and better footage—these essential accessories are absolute game-changers. Let’s dive into the must-haves every DJI Mini 4 Pro pilot should consider.
I’ve invested in most of these accessories from the start, and the few I don’t yet own are definitely on my must-buy list. If there’s an accessory you swear by that’s not mentioned here, feel free to drop a comment at the end of the article. I’d love to hear your recommendations, and I’m sure other drone pilots will too!
ND Filter Set – A Must-Have for Cinematic Drone Footage

If you’re serious about capturing professional-quality footage with your DJI Mini 4 Pro, investing in a high-quality ND filter set is a no-brainer. ND (Neutral Density) filters are like sunglasses for your drone’s camera; they reduce the amount of light entering the lens, allowing you to shoot at slower shutter speeds and lower apertures. The result? Smoother motion blur and more cinematic, polished-looking video.
When flying in bright daylight, ND filters help maintain proper exposure without overexposing your shots. By switching to Pro mode, you can manually adjust your ISO settings; think of ISO as the camera’s digital sensitivity to light. When set to its lowest setting (ISO 100 or 200), and paired with the right ND filter, you’re able to preserve detail, reduce noise, and achieve that signature film-like look.

Here are a couple of ND filter sets for the DJI Mini 4 Pro that are worth considering. I personally use the Neewer 8-piece set, which includes six different ND strengths and two CPL (circular polarising) filters for cutting glare and reflections. From this set I mostly use the ND32 and 64 filters so if you’re considering a cheaper option, try and ensure you have these two.

How to Get Cinematic Footage from your DJI Mini 4 ProBattery Charger Power Adapter – Fast, Compact, and Essential
One of the first accessories every DJI Mini 4 Pro owner should pick up is a reliable high-wattage power adapter. Since the Mini 4 Pro doesn’t include a power adapter in the box, getting one is essential if you want to charge your gear efficiently.
Take a look at the Anker Prime USB-C power adapter with a 65W or 100W output, featuring two USB-C and one USB-A. These fast charging adapters allow you to power up your drone batteries, RC2 controller, and even a phone or tablet all at the same time. It’s a massive time-saver, especially if you’re prepping for a shoot or just don’t want to be tethered to one outlet all day. It also has folding prongs

I was initially using a spare laptop charger, but upgrading to a proper fast charger for the DJI Mini 4 Pro made a huge difference. It’s compact, lightweight, and travel-friendly, perfect for charging on the go without taking up space in your drone bag.
Whether you’re flying casually or shooting professionally, a multi-port, high-output adapter is one of the best DJI Mini 4 Pro charging accessories you can own.

Each USB-C port supports up to 100W—charge a 14″ MacBook Pro to 50% in just 30 mins. - Ultra-Compact & Travel-Ready
Foldable prongs and a sleek, pocket-friendly design make it perfect for travel. - Secure, Drop-Proof Build
Thicker prongs and a balanced design ensure a stable, reliable connection.
Landing / Takeoff Pad – For Safer, Smoother Launches Anywhere
A landing pad for your DJI Mini 4 Pro might not be the first accessory that comes to mind, but it’s one that makes a noticeable difference, especially when you’re flying outdoors on unpredictable terrain.

I quickly realised how tricky it can be to find a flat, clean surface for takeoff. Uneven ground, tall grass, loose sand, or gravel can easily interfere with the propellers or kick up debris during lift-off, risking damage to your drone. A drone landing pad provides a stable, hard surface that makes takeoffs and landings much safer and smoother.
Many models, like the one I use, come with lockdown pegs to keep the pad secure in windy conditions. And when you’re done? It folds down into a compact, lightweight pouch that fits easily into a backpack, perfect for travel and on-the-go flying.

If you’re flying in diverse outdoor locations, this is a simple but smart accessory to add to your kit.
Hard Travel Case – Protect Your Gear On the Go
If you like to take your DJI Mini 4 Pro on your travels, a hard travel case is one of the smartest investments you can make. While the soft carry bag included in the Fly More Combo is convenient and compact, it doesn’t offer much protection against drops, impacts, or pressure, especially when packed in luggage or carried on rough terrain.
A hard case for the DJI Mini 4 Pro provides durable, structured protection that gives you real peace of mind. Whether it’s being loaded into a suitcase, tossed in the back of a car, or carried through the airport, your drone and gear stay safe and secure.

Most travel cases are custom-moulded with space for the drone itself, the RC controller, multiple spare batteries, charging accessories, ND filters, and even spare propellers, keeping everything organised and protected in one place.
I invested in the StartRC hard carry case, which has space for the Mini 4 Pro, RC-N3 or RC2 controller, 4 batteries including the charger hub and an additional pocket for documents and spares.
If you’re serious about protecting your investment, especially while on the move, a protective travel case for your Mini 4 Pro is a must-have accessory. For those who want extra protection, take a look at the waterproof hard carry case. Whilst a bit more bulky and weighty, it provides the ultimate protection whilst travelling.

Extra Batteries & Charging Hub – More Flight Time, Less Waiting
One of the biggest limitations of the DJI Mini 4 Pro is its relatively short flight time—often around 24 to 30 minutes per battery, depending on conditions. That’s not a lot when you’re chasing golden hour light or trying to nail the perfect cinematic shot.
Investing in extra batteries for your DJI Mini 4 Pro is a game-changer. With just two additional batteries, you can extend your total flight time to over 90 minutes, giving you the flexibility to explore more locations, reshoot scenes, and make the most of every flying session.

To get the most out of those batteries, pair them with the DJI Charging Hub. This smart charger not only stores and charges multiple batteries at once, but it also prioritises charging based on each battery’s remaining power, so you’re always ready to fly with the fullest battery first.
If you’re serious about aerial photography or videography, extra batteries and a charging hub are essential DJI Mini 4 Pro accessories that help you stay in the air longer and capture more of what matters.
Spare Propeller Set – A Must for Safe and Reliable Flights
Flying with damaged or chipped propellers isn’t just risky, it’s outright unsafe. As a drone pilot, it’s your responsibility to make sure your aircraft is flight-ready before every launch, and that includes checking the condition of your blades.
That’s why having a spare set of propellers for your DJI Mini 4 Pro is absolutely essential. Whether it’s from a hard landing or an unexpected bump, propeller damage can happen at any time and having replacements on hand means you won’t have to cut your flying session short.

Don’t forget to pack your mini screwdriver too, it’s needed for removing and securely attaching new propellers.
If you picked up the Fly More Combo, you’ll already have three spare sets included. Otherwise, you can purchase official replacement propellers separately for around £9 (plus postage).
£9 – Spare Propellers from DJIKeeping a few spares in your drone bag is a simple way to boost flight safety, performance, and peace of mind.
Spare Operator ID Stickers – Stay Legal & Flight-Ready
In the UK, your DJI Mini 4 Pro must be registered with the CAA (Civil Aviation Authority) to fly legally. That means displaying your Operator ID clearly on the drone at all times.
Having spare Operator ID stickers on hand is a smart move in case your original label gets damaged, worn, or falls off. You can easily print replacements yourself or order pre-made, regulation-compliant stickers from sites like FPV Drones.
Propeller Guards – Extra Safety for Close-Range Flying
While I don’t personally use them, propeller guards for the DJI Mini 4 Pro are highly recommended by many in the drone community, especially when flying near people or in tight spaces.
They help prevent injuries like lacerations from spinning blades and add an extra layer of safety during close-range flights. Just note: adding prop guards increases the drone’s weight, which can move it out of the C0 (A1 legacy) category, limiting where you’re allowed to fly legally in the UK.

Micro SD Cards
An essential purchase for any drone is the addition of an SD card. The DJI Mini 4 Pro has very limited built-in storage, only 2GB, so an SD card is a must. DJI recommend the Lexar high-speed cards for their drones which are available in 128GB, 256GB and 256GB storage options. Please note that only high-speed cards with a V30 or V90 write speed will work in the Mini 4 Pro to ensure 4K footage capture.
When shooting in D-Log M on the DJI Mini 4 Pro, the bitrate is typically 130 Mbps for 4K at 30fps, since D-Log M captures more colour data and dynamic range, resulting in larger files.
Read the full D-Log M guide here
Here’s a table based on 130 Mbps bitrate (which equals 16.25 MB/sec):
| SD Card Size | Estimated Recording Time (4K 30fps, D-Log M @ 130 Mbps) |
|---|---|
| 128GB | ~1 hour 45 minutes |
| 256GB | ~3 hours 30 minutes |
| 512GB | ~7 hours |
Neck Strap for RC Controller – Comfort & Control for Longer Flights
If you spend a lot of time flying your DJI Mini 4 Pro, a neck strap for the RC controller can make a huge difference in both comfort and control. Holding the controller for extended periods—especially during long shoots or mapping missions can lead to hand fatigue or strain. A neck lanyard helps evenly distribute the weight of the controller, giving your hands a break while keeping it secure and ready to fly.
Most straps attach easily to the built-in loop on the DJI RC or RC 2 controller, and many feature adjustable lengths and padded neck supports for all-day comfort. It’s also a great safety add-on, helping prevent accidental drops if you need to quickly let go of the controller.

Whether you’re a casual pilot or a pro content creator, a controller neck strap is a simple, affordable accessory that makes your flying sessions more comfortable and stress-free.
Card Reader for Laptop – Quick & Reliable File Transfers
After capturing stunning 4K footage with your DJI Mini 4 Pro, you’ll want a fast and efficient way to transfer your videos and photos to your laptop for editing. That’s where a high-speed card reader becomes essential.
A dedicated microSD card reader for laptops offers much faster transfer speeds than connecting your drone directly, especially when working with large 4K or D-Log M files. Look for a reader that supports USB 3.0+ to get the best performance and reduce waiting time when offloading content.
Most modern card readers are compact and plug-and-play, making them ideal for use on the go. Whether you’re editing in the field or backing up footage at home, a reliable card reader ensures your workflow stays smooth and efficient.
Wide Angle Lens – Expand Your Field of View
A wide-angle lens is a fantastic accessory for the DJI Mini 4 Pro if you want to capture more of the scene in a single shot. Whether you’re filming landscapes, architecture, or action scenes, a wide-angle lens helps you achieve a broader, more immersive perspective, perfect for cinematic drone footage.
This accessory simply attaches to the drone’s existing camera lens and allows you to increase the field of view without needing to fly further back. It’s especially useful in tight spaces or when you’re trying to include more background or foreground detail in your shots.
DJI Mini 4 Pro Wide-Angle Lens

- Get more of the scene with the Wide-Angle Lens, expanding your field of view from 82.1° to 114° when taking photos and from 75° to 100° when recording videos (16:9).
- In the box: Wide-Angle Lens × 1
- Weight: 2.3 g
- FOV: Photo mode 114°, Video mode (16:9) 100°
If you’re creating content for social media, real estate, or travel vlogs, a wide-angle lens is a creative tool that adds depth and scale to your aerial footage, helping your shots stand out from the rest.
